Plot:
The lone Asian entry in the main competition of the 61st Berlin Film Festival, acclaimed director Lee Yoon Ki's Come Rain, Come Shine stars popular actors Hyun Bin and Lim Soo Jung as a young married couple on the verge of separation. During a car drive, she suddenly announces her decision to leave for another man. On their final day together, the two quietly go about their domestic chores as if it was any other day. Heavy rainfall and an unexpected visitor impede her plans to move out, and gradually bring emotions to the surface.

Spare on words and plot, Come Rain, Come Shine may divide audiences with its lulling pace and ponderous silence, but the low-key film succinctly captures the poetry and pain of cohabitation and separation through disarmingly simple interactions. Set mostly in the protagonists' austere house, the beautifully shot drama draws out the characters through abbreviated conversations, muted emotions, and meticulous attention to everyday activities.

As illustrated by the title ''Venus and Mars,” the movie depicts differences in the way men and women think.

This is mostly how Ji-na and Sang-min spend their time together. But they decide to overcome their clashing characters and vow for forever love. However, their vow is short-lived and their life of "happily ever-after" seems to be an unattainable fairy tale. Sang-min is the nation's number one indifferent husband. Although unintended, he always seems to aggravate Ji-na. Ji-na is his wife. After putting up with Sang-min's distasteful attitude, she has become a scrawny, tense, and violent wife.

While their grudges against one another are still left unhandled, they decide to split up. They clash on every issue and a psychological warfare begins. What began as verbal fights lead on to physical fight and they fight as if they are going to kill each other. There's no room for patience and understanding to these two ex-lovers. When there is a competition for a single spot in a famous ballet school in Russia, the envious Jin-sung finds the twentieth-ninth step and asks to beat the favorite So-hee. However, there is a price to pay for the wish unknown to Jin-sung and the consequence is the accidental death of So-hee. When she also finds the mysterious step, she wishes the return of So-hee with tragic consequences. (Written by Claudio Carvalho, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil)

Two friends at art college studying ballet find themselves competing for a single placement to go to a dance school in Russia. An urban legend about the staircase heading towards the dormitory building says that if you go up all twenty-eight steps and find a twenty-ninth, then you can ask for a wish to be granted and Yun Ji-seong knows just what she wants to wish for.
